The check-in app for tattoo studios
An artist mid-session cannot stop to greet the door. Acorn lets consults and walk-ins put themselves on the list, so nobody is ignored and nobody is interrupted.
Replaces: A shout to the back, or a client standing in the doorway.
What actually goes wrong
You cannot break a line
Stopping mid-session to answer the door costs more than a missed greeting. A scan handles it without either.
Consults and walk-ins pile up together
One list with real arrival times makes the order obvious, including to the people waiting.
The front is not staffed
Most studios do not have a receptionist. The QR is the receptionist.
How it works
- 01 Print the code. Stick it on the door. It is a QR that never changes, even if we change the URL behind it.
- 02 They scan it. A web page opens. They type a name and tap once. No app, no account.
- 03 You see them. A live list of names and how long each has waited. Tap a name to clear it.
Questions
Can we use this for consults as well as walk-ins?
Yes. Anyone who scans is on the list. What they are there for is your business, not the app's.
Does the client need an account?
No. They type a name and tap once. Nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
Can each artist have their own list?
The list is per location today. Multi-location support exists in the data model and the dashboard is catching up.
How long do you keep names?
Thirty days, then they are deleted automatically. The anonymous row stays so counts still work.
Is there a free plan?
The free tier is the product. Unlimited check-ins, the live list, and the QR code cost nothing.
