Staff text alerts
When a visitor checks in, AcornCheckIn can text a business's own team so they know someone is waiting. It is optional and off by default. A business owner turns it on and enters their team's mobile numbers in their AcornCheckIn dashboard. This is exactly what that opt-in looks like:
Off by default. A business turns this on, then enters its team's mobile numbers:
By adding a number you confirm you have permission to text it. AcornCheckIn texts these numbers only when someone checks in at your business. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
What the message says
One message per check-in, per number on the list. It names the visitor, names the business, and links to that business's live list. Nothing else:
Sam just checked in at Northside Barbers - https://acorncheckin.com/l/9f3c...
There is no marketing in it and there is no second message. If nobody checks in, nobody gets texted.
How to stop them
Reply STOP to any message and that number stops receiving alerts immediately, with no further action from the business. Reply HELP for help. An owner can also remove a number from the list, or switch alerts off entirely, in their dashboard at any time.
The business owner sets this up in their AcornCheckIn dashboard. AcornCheckIn (a product of PerfSpot LLC) is the sender of these messages; the recipients are the business's own team, never its customers. Visitors are texted only where a business turns that on separately, which is documented on the visitor text alerts page.
